Outdoor Advertising Market for Reno, Nevada

Market Overview

Digital Outdoor Network

The Digital Outdoor Network is in this market.

Welcome to the Biggest Little City in the World! The Greater Reno-Tahoe area consists of Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, Virginia City, Fernley and one of the #1 travel destinations, Lake Tahoe.

The Reno Metro area sits on the intersection of Interstate 80, the major east-west cross-country highway, and U.S. 395, which connects Southern California and Northern Nevada. Interstate 80 has a flow of over 115,000 cars per day, while the north-south U.S. 395 has a flow of over 104,000 cars per day. Sixty five trucking companies, two major rail providers and an airport with one hundred seventy six flights a day also makes this area a major economic contributor. In addition, NV has no state income tax or franchise tax. The absence of these taxes, combined with a variety of state business incentives, makes NV a primary target for new and expanding businesses. Reno also has one of the largest 'Foreign Trade Zones' in the US, making it very attractive for manufactures importing large quantities of parts or raw materials. No wonder US News and World Report named NV as one of the "7 Best States to Start a Business." The combined Reno-Sparks area was ranked 8th among the Top 20 Midsize Cities for Doing Business by Inc. Magazine. Reno was also ranked 26th in the Best Performing Cities Report released by the Milken Institute in February 2007. The downtown area offers museums, shopping, dining, theatres and music for virtually any taste. This is why we were named one of the "Top 100 Places to Raise a Family" by Best Life magazine in May 2008.

The Reno-Tahoe area boasts 15 world class ski resorts, thousands of mountain bike and hiking trails, several lakes perfect for fishing and boating and the Truckee River which runs right through downtown Reno. Reno has recently acquired The Reno Bighorns, an NBA development league, as well as the Reno Aces, a minor league baseball team. Couple these activities with Reno's hotels, gaming and growing nightlife and it's easy to see why the area has over 5 million visitors per year. Visitors to "America's Adventure Place" can experience a wide variety of events offered in the area including The Reno Tahoe Open; a regular stop on the PGA tour, Hot August Nights; Reno's tribute to America's love affair with classic cars and rock n' roll, the Nugget's Best in the West Rib Cook off; a week-long festival hosting the nation's best bar-b-que competitors, the Reno Rodeo; one of the largest rodeos in the west, Street Vibrations; a motorcycle festival that celebrates music, metal and motorcycles and Artown; a month long summer arts festival that boasts renowned artists and performers. Other events include the Reno River Festival, the Tour de Nez bike race, the Collegiate National Whitewater Championship and numerous bowling competitions that take place at the National Bowling Stadium.

Clear Channel Outdoor is the only full-service outdoor advertising company in the Reno-Tahoe area.
