Mark Thewlis has over 13 years' experience in the out-of-home sector. His role as Regional President for Asia Pacific sees him overseeing six business units, including the management of international radio operations in Australia and New Zealand. He is also responsible for providing a thought leadership role on the topic of emerging technologies to the executive committee, and acts as Clear Channel's digital conscience championing all forms of innovation at the most senior level of the company. Mark is also a non-executive director of the Hong Kong listed company Clear Media.
Prior to his current role, Mark held the position of Senior Vice President for Operations with responsibility for a number of business units throughout Europe. Before that, he was Director of Finance for Clear Channel International (CCI) based in London.
Mark held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Adshel Street Furniture Pty Ltd, a joint venture between Clear Channel Outdoor and APN News & Media Limited, before joining CCI in 2002. He was involved with the early development of the business including extensive contract negotiations, management of the annual capital expenditure programme and establishment of third party finance facilities.
He has a degree in accounting from the University of Canberra and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. When not travelling the globe, he enjoys time at home in Sydney with his son and cycling with friends.
